From our work with women and girls, we know that education helps them gain economic strength. When women and girls get an education, they have the chance to make better choices and decisions for themselves and their families.
Why Attend?
Proceeds from your ticket & attendance will fund:
- Scholarships for High School Seniors ~ Each year we grant four to five scholarships of at least $1,000 each to seniors to further their education~
- Live Your Dream Award ~ Funding for women who are “primary wage earners” and who are furthering their education ~
- “Dream It, Be It”: Career Support for Girls ~ targets girls facing obstacles to future success. Provides access to professional role models, career education and resources.~
- Soroptimist of Placerville’s “Helping Hands” ~ our club’s exclusive program to fulfill emergency needs for women and children not available from any other resource. Local agencies can request up to $500 for needs such as utility or medical bills, school tuition or books and other critical expenses. Since its inception, our Club has donated over $144,000 to lift up over 500 women and their children ~
