Seeking $1,000 Award Applicants

SOROPTIMIST PLACERVILLE CLUB SEEKS WOMEN WHO HAVE MADE EXTRAORDINARY DIFFERENCES ON BEHALF OF WOMEN AND GIRLS IN OUR COMMUNITY

Soroptimist International of Placerville (SIP) is searching for applicants for its Soroptimist Ruby Award: For Women Helping Women, which honors women who—through their professional or personal activities—make exceptional efforts on behalf of women and girls. Women can nominate themselves or another woman in the community.

Nominees should be women who have made extraordinary differences on behalf of women and girls by offering opportunities leading to their social and economic empowerment. The mission of SIP is to empower women and girls through education, and we are currently focusing our efforts on awareness and prevention of sex trafficking. The club has previously provided this award to women from Hope House, Pregnancy Counseling Center, United Outreach, Courage House, The Center for Violence Free Relationships, Prevention Works, and Marshall's Sudden Death Program. The Placerville Soroptimist club will provide the recipient with a $1,000 cash grant, to be donated to recipient’s charity of choice.

Applications are available online at siplacerville.org or by contacting Barbara Smiley at siplacerville@soroptimist.net or 530-344-1476. Applications must be returned to Soroptimist International of Placerville by December 15, 2018. Mail to PO Box 263, Placerville, CA 95667.
